Here's what IPSF says about the Dev Team
"Our sincere congratulations, to the iPhone/ iTouch Dev Team for their brilliant work in finding an ingenious way to jailbreak the 1.1.1 system."
Q: What is IPSF?
A: IPSF (iPhoneSimFree) is a company that have developed a commercial unlocking solution for iPhone.
Q: Is IPSF free?
A: No. See above.
Q: Does IPSF work on 1.1.1?
A: They say it does, but we don't have verified steps. You can try jailbreaking a 1.1.1 phone, then running IPSF.
Otherwise, see next Q/A to downgrade the OS only to 1.0.2 (do NOT downgrade your baseband). Then run IPSF. For more questions, you should ask IPSF.
Q: Can IPSF "unbrick" my unlocked phone that I updated from 1.0.2 to 1.1.1 (even though I was told not to do this by both Apple and the Dev team)?
A: Our own "tjcarter" tested it and it worked. He bricked his phone on purpose by updating an AnySim'd phone to 1.1.1. Then he downgraded the OS only to 1.0.2 so he could jailbreak. Then he used IPSF. His phone is fine and happy now, fully unlocked.
Q: How does IPSF work?
A: Only IPSF knows for sure, but according to Dev Team, it appears that IPSF is causing a crash in the RSA key, and writing a new bootloader to the phone. Be aware that bootloaders are rarely updated by manufacturers, but in the even that Apple updates the bootloader, your unlock (and/or phone) may stop working. DO NOT update an IPSF'd phone until they tell you it is safe to do so.
Q: Do you support IPSF?
A: We'd prefer phone unlocking to be free to all. And we provide help for free unlocking methods.
If you are paying for an unlocking method, shouldn't the vendor at least provide support?
Q: How can I contact IPSF?
